Hey y’all! We are Mike and Angie Hurst. 

Nashville has been our home for the past 28 years.  

Mike traveled in a band for several years, our kids grew up in Music City and also spent time traveling and playing music, but for the past 21 years, we have had the privilege of working at our local church.  We have built some amazing relationships over the years in this wonderful city. 

After watching several of our close friends became widows, and seeing the loneliness they felt, we began to pray about what it would look like to do something to encourage our friends.  

Brighten Up Nashville officially started in February of 2023. We want to provide an opportunity for our community to send love and encouragement to widows on Valentine’s Day—a day they could easily be overlooked.  

Come help us put a smile on the face of each special widow that is nominated this year!
