Meet the Team
This is the heart and soul of Brighten Up Nashville! It started with an idea on my heart and this team has grown Brighten Up Nashville into the most intentional, thoughtful annual event! <3

As the Founders of Brighten Up Nashville, this nonprofit holds a deeply personal place in our hearts. When we launched the first year, we were thinking of several close friends who had lost their lifelong partners. Our simple hope was to ensure that those who might otherwise feel forgotten on Valentine's Day—widows and widowers without their beloved companions—would know they weren't alone. Year after year, we've witnessed our community rally together to transform Valentine's Day from a day of sadness into one filled with warmth and joy for these individuals. Angie serves as the President and Mike serves as the Director of Logistics. Being part of Brighten Up Nashville is something we will always be grateful for!

Director of Volunteer OperationsBrighten Up Nashville came at a pivotal time in my life where my focus needed to be shifted. When I heard of Angie’s desire to bless widows in such a special way, I knew I wanted to be a part of this event. To bring a smile and minister to these widows leaves my cup overflowing! God is truly amazing to inspire, provide, and carry out his mission and to be a small part of that brings me no greater joy!

Digital Content ManagerMy name is Molly Lyon! I moved to Nashville in 2017 for college and now work in children's publishing. I love being part of a team that celebrates storytelling and imagination every day.
I'm honored to be involved with Brighten Up Nashville and was drawn to its meaningful mission from the early days of its conception: spreading love and kindness to those who need it most on Valentine’s Day.
It’s a joy to be part of a community that shows up for others in such a heartfelt way!

Volunteer CoordinatorWith over 25 years working within the administrative field in Nashville and the joy of raising two amazing now adult children, Kristy's spare time is focused on coming alongside organizations impacting our communities. Brighten Up Nashville has definitely captured her heart.
What began as a simple yes to a friend’s invite has turned into an “always yes” for the opportunity to help Angie and her family fulfill a vision.
My prayer is that each precious woman and man will know they are loved and seen on Valentine’s Day and each day beyond, by the efforts of so many.

Financial ManagerI am thrilled to be joining the Brighten Up Nashville team! The mission of bringing joy and hope to widows—especially on a day that can often feel heavy—is both inspiring and deeply meaningful to me. With over 30 years of experience in accounting, I’m excited to use my skills to support this incredible organization and help be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.
I’m married to Tom, and together we’ve raised three wonderful children. We love traveling and spending time with our family and friends.

Logistics and Routing SpecialistCaleb is an outdoor enthusiast and animal lover! He spends most of his spare time climbing and hiking out in the mountains.
One of the things I love most about Brighten Up Nashville is seeing so many people come together to put a smile on people’s face!

Event Operations CoordinatorI’m Julie Dunlap and I am so grateful to have been a part of this amazing ministry for the past two years. When Angie shared her vision, I knew I wanted to be a part of the love and encouragement that so many would receive on a day that might otherwise be lonely.
For me the highlight is watching a community of volunteers come together – the teamwork, the laughter, and the tangible joy that the finished product and final deliveries bring to so many. These small acts of kindness show the caring hearts we all have, for those widows and widowers receiving these beautiful gifts. I am very excited to be a part of this team.
